Another group of characters to be identified are minor yandere characters. While these characters demonstrate the traits of a yandere, their personalities or behaviors may be featured too briefly in their respective media. Thus, it may not be worthwhile to consume the media only for their yandere or obsessive moments.
Although, it is worth noting that media which features minor yandere characters usually also contains other more prominent yandere or obsessive characters. In other cases, the media contents may be of excellent quality and are truly captivating, even if the yandere only takes a minor role. If so, there may be no harm in consuming the media for a good plot and yanderes, with the minor yanderes as a perk.
For a character to be classified as a minor yandere, they should satisfy one of the follow criteria:
- The character is a significant character in their respective media. However, even though they demonstrate obvious yandere and obsessive tendencies, these outbursts are short and rare. Sometimes, it may even be a one-off occurrence.
- The character demonstrates yandere and obsessive tendencies actively throughout their presence in their respective media. However, the character only holds a small role, which translates to few and short appearances in that media.
- The character meets both the criteria above: they have a small role in the media and only show rare instances of yandere and obsessive tendencies.
Essentially, minor yanderes and their behaviors are often inconsequential to the overarching storyline. Their displays may be scarce and negligible.
Nevertheless, this site shall identify such characters to better inform its readers. You readers can then decide on whether the character and its media are worthy of further attention.
