SPOILERS AND PERSONAL OPINION

This drama centers around Xia Lin and Ling Yi Zhou, and how they grow as a couple despite all the adversities thrown at them. While it may seem that their marriage was merely coincidental, it was eventually revealed that such an event was orchestrated.

Even though Xia Lin and Ling Yi Zhou had moments of uncertainty, doubt, and discontent, the couple managed to put aside any wrongdoings and put their love for each other as top most priority. With genuine love and support from each other, Xia Lin and Ling Yi Zhou was able to live a happy ending.

I really liked the beginning of the drama as it was super cute, with how Ling Yi Zhou was treating Xia Lin as his most precious even when they had only just agreed on the marriage contract.

But at some point, I felt like scriptwriter had happily written enough for 10 episodes when the director came in and suddenly demanded the script length to be doubled. This drama had all the tropes you can think of thrown in, and in the most ridiculous of ways.

Kidnapping, memory loss, drugging, obsession, manipulation, falsified deaths, near-death encounters, and then some. The scriptwriter probably had the time of their life thinking of all the possible scenes to lengthen this drama, which was probably why yanderes were included too.

Still, I must say that despite the increasing absurdity of the show, some characters still won my heart. Xia Lin’s friend, Jia Fei, was always encouraging and supportive of Xia Lin, giving her advices whenever she needs it. Wen Li was also extremely loyal to Ling Yi Zhou, and has a really cute personality.

Above all, my favorite character of the show is Chu Yan. Even though this is a site for yanderes, occasionally unconditional love like Chu Yan’s still takes the cake. His character was self-sacrificing through and through, always loyal to Ling Yi Zhou as a friend, and always being there for Xia Lin whenever she needs him, despite knowing his love for her will never bear fruit.

I have to confess that I had dropped this drama at around episode 14, and only came around to finish everything in order to write this review. Even though the drama has plenty of sweet moments that really warms my heart, the plot gets so chaotic as it progresses that all that heartwarming had went down the drain eventually.
