Hideo Ozaki is Yuriko's childhood friend. While they often played together when they were young, Hideo drifted away and grew colder towards Yuriko in the recent years. He had graduated from the military academy, and is the second lieutenant of the army.

Shiba Junichi is a self-made wealthy businessman who came from poverty. On Yuriko's birthday party, the man made a striking entrance and saved her. A few days later, he came to her manor to ask for her hand in marriage.
