Jin is a new transfer student into the protagonist’s school. He seems shy and soft-spoken. However, looks can be deceiving.
SPOILERS AND PERSONAL OPINION

Jin first met the protagonist at their school during a class project where they sat beside each other. As Jin was shy and quiet, the protagonist took the first step to interact with him by passing written notes. Soon, Jin opened up to the protagonist and developed a liking for her.
When the protagonist was kidnapped, Jin tried to treat the protagonist gently. He cooked for her despite his clumsiness, and tried to adjust things to keep the protagonist as comfortable as possible. He trusted the protagonist and chose to believe in her words despite vaguely noticing the protagonist’s intent to escape and mislead him. However, he warned the protagonist not to betray his trust.

When the protagonist’s lie and attempt to escape was revealed, Jin did not take it kindly. In fact, he was livid, and his manners changed drastically. He threatened the protagonist to confess what exactly happened, and pressed a knife towards the her until she told the truth.
The gang proceeded to kidnap the protagonist’s best friend as hostage, and later murdered the friend due to the protagonist ‘misbehaving’. Having some screws loose, Jin cut off a finger from the corpse, preserved it in formaldehyde, and presented it in a gift box to the protagonist. In his mind, the protagonist should be grateful that he bothered to preserve a body part of her loved one specially for her. Of course, the protagonist freaked out over this ‘gift’, but Jin could not understand why. Clearly, Jin was not the soft-spoken and harmless boy that protagonist once thought he was. In fact, he may be one of the most violent and unstable ones of the group.
Eventually, Jin revealed to the protagonist that his health condition was deteriorating. Jin had sickle cell anemia. According to his doctor, he may not live past his thirties. His family hated the financial burden Jin brought upon them due to his medical needs. He was also horribly isolated growing up with the illness. As such, when the protagonist showed him kindness, he refused to let go.
In his ending where the protagonist failed to escape again, he decided to capture her and cut off her ring fingers as punishment. Then, she wouldn’t be able to get engaged to someone else. If she says she loves him, he will stop at two. Else, he will continue to cut off the other fingers. And then he plan to return the protagonist her ring fingers when they marry, and then take them off again near his death.
LOL IDK what even. Does he think the fingers can be fixed on with glue or something? His biology knowledge is as bonkers as Ren’s. What’s with all this weird endings LOL.
Anyway, I really don’t like Jin. He is weird, unadorable, creepy, deranged, in all sorts of unlikeable ways. I fangirl over yando characters, but he is simply not the way to go. I cannot feel the development of his affection, I cannot empathize with his emotions, and I do not understand his train of thoughts. All this made Jin so unrelatable and unlikeable for me. Overall, he just seemed like he was designed to fit the shy and weird, yet cute and endearing character archetype, but it just failed terribly for me.
