SPOILERS AND PERSONAL OPINION

Ren was the one that the protagonist can talk to the most out of all 6 yandere characters. The two met at school, with Ren being more reserved. Once, Ren was trying to pick up piano playing again, but couldn’t no matter what. When the protagonist stayed beside him however, he was suddenly able to finish his piano piece without a single mistake. From then on, he thought of the protagonist as his muse.
Ren has a more artistic side to him, and was shown to appreciate music throughout the game. He was also relatively more gentle than the rest, and acted as the primary caregiver for the protagonist whenever she needed it. When the protagonist broke down or freaked out, Ren was usually the one who can calm her down and diffuse her anxiety.
Ren was the most self-aware out of all the yanderes. He admitted that his actions were not sane. He also knew that the protagonist did not love him like he did towards her. However, if what he did would make the protagonist stay by his side, then it was all worth it to him.
However, Ren also have his own crazy side. Once, Ren saw Ryo kissing the protagonist’s neck. In a fit of jealous rage, Ren bit the protagonist to “leave his mark” on her. Another time when Ren revealed the truth about his sister who passed away, he became so agitated that he almost hurt the protagonist.

In his ending, the protagonist failed to escape and got captured by Ren. Ren has had medical training due to his parents owning hospitals, and they have hoped to involved him in the entire business. (How that translated to actual surgical skills and medical expertise which would have took decades to master, I have no idea. Game logic.) To prevent her escape again, Ren surgically severed her Achilles tendon so that the protagonist may never walk again and would be fully dependent on him.

That part was fine. But then he talked about how he would TEMPORARILY remove her lungs so that she can experience how he felt like when she escape: he couldn’t breath. Oh but she will only be without lungs for a week and they will pop back again later. LOL. And then they will live happily ever after. Like whut??? ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)
Listen. I don’t know much about medicine and clinical procedures. But I am quite sure lung removals don’t work that way. Are you sure this guy over here is medically trained and know what he is doing? Oh well game logic I guess.
Anyway, of all the yandere guys in this game, I would say I prefer Ren the most. It’s not much because as I have said in other posts, I generally dislike all the yanderes in this game. Still, Ren was the rare guy that actually thought about making the protagonist happy despite their peculiar circumstances.
Even if his resources are limited, and his focus was to keep the protagonist by his side using whatever means necessary, he still hoped to make the experience more tolerable for the protagonist. He also mentioned that he liked caring for others, which was why he picked up medical knowledge in the first place. (Though I heavily doubt his capabilities after the lung thingy.) If he had not been so volatile, and had shown better character development and motivations, I might have really liked him.
