Ning Qing is the head of the Immortal Master Manor. Possessing one of the greatest powers in the realm, he is a fearsome figure, out to wreck havoc in the world.

SPOILERS AND PERSONAL OPINION

Ning Xi Yu picked up Ning Qing when he was alone, and accepted him into the Floral Valley as her disciple. Since early, Ning Qing had been in love with Ning Xi Yu. However, Ning Xi Yu passed away soon after she was kicked out of the Floral Valley.

Believing that the cruel members of the Floral Valley, the demons, and everyone else had wronged and caused the death of Ning Xi Yu, Ning Qing embarked on a journey to seek vengeance on the whole world.

Along the way, he came across fairy Shun De from the heaven realm, and was astounded by the likeness between her appearance and that of Ning Xi Yu. After the chance encounter, he took Shun De under his wing and accepted her as his disciple. Thereafter, he began treating Shun De as a substitute for Ning Xi Yu.

He made Shun De wear white clothes, just like how Ning Xi Yu did in the past. He also gave in to Shun De’s every whims and demands, no matter how tyrannical, as he saw it as though Ning Xi Yu was the one inciting the havoc and taking revenge on the world. Ning Qing would do everything to protect Shun De’s face from harm, so that he can keep the only remaining semblance of Ning Xi Yu by his side.

Unfortunately, Shun De’s face was marred during a fight, and Ning Qing took a drastic change in his attitude towards Shun De. It was obvious that all he cared about was Shun De’s face, and his heart still remained with the supposedly deceased Ning Xi Yu. He did everything he could to restore Shun De’s face, and used the most painful method possible due to its effectiveness. Ning Qing disregarded the torture Shun De had to go through, even if there were other less agonizing ways out there; he only cared to mend her face back to perfection.

Turned out, Ning Xi Yu had actually survived through her ordeal, but all that was left was a fragment of her soul. She watched as Ning Qing became increasingly evil, wrecking havoc and bringing misfortune to the world.

As she could not bare to see it anymore, she communicated with him through a dream and revealed that he was in fact the cause of her death. The truth was simply too hard for Ning Qing to bear, so he suppressed those memories and made up false ones in which the world was at fault to escape his guilt. When he finally came to terms with it, he gave up all his powers that he had illegitimately absorbed, and followed Ning Xi Yu as they both perished from the world.

Ning Qing is one of the major antagonist of this series, and his yandere acts was a huge driving force of the entire plot line. However, he was cowardly and hypocritical, which make him fairly unlikeable to me.

Even so, the drama is really good and there is another yandere in the drama who is totally worth looking out for. So I still recommend you to give the drama a chance!
