Lawrence is the leader of a group of young survivors who formed a base in a high school. He is clever and responsible, which earned him the trust of the survivors he leads.

SPOILERS AND PERSONAL OPINION

Turns out, Lawrence had been in love with the protagonist since 2 years ago. Back then, the protagonist had casually helped him out by giving him an umbrella on a rainy day. While she did not realize it, her action had a big impact on Lawrence, and he had liked her since.

When the zombie virus broke out and Lawrence and his gang saved the protagonist by chance, he was extremely delighted. The group brought the protagonist back in their base in an abandoned high school, and Lawrence made sure that the group would willingly accept the protagonist into their team, and see her in a good light. Soon, he began to harbor plans to eliminate the other survivors so that there will only be the protagonist and him together.

Even though Lawrence was aware of a safe zone in the city, he did not want the group to know, as this will mean the protagonist will be aware of it as well. He wanted just the protagonist and him to be together, and no one else. Being in the safe zone will risk the protagonist leaving him, so that was not an option.

He first started with the protagonist’s close friend Judy, then moved onto Jay who shoved the protagonist down a staircase and injured her. Then, he murdered Scarlett, who had always harassed the protagonist. He attempted to harm Harry, a classmate who grew closer to the protagonist. And when Sue suspected Lawrence of his crimes, he killed her too.

Despite his plan working, and the number of survivors grew lesser and lesser, Lawrence was still unsatisfied. He found the pace too slow for his liking; he wanted all the group members gone except for the protagonist as soon as possible.

For this purpose, Lawrence set up an intricate plan. He experimented with the zombies and found that they were sensitive to sound. Exploiting this fact, he connected the school’s broadcasting station to an electrical supply. When the moment came, he blasted loud music all over the school.

In other characters’ route, everyone got killed by his act, except for the protagonist and whoever’s route she is on. Whether or not Lawrence survived is not known.

In Lawrence’s route, he sought out the protagonist successfully after blasting the music and presumably killing all the others. He then brought the protagonist to the basement, which was thought to be unsafe all along.

As it proved, the basement was the safest place in the whole building. Lawrence had intentionally kept it a secret, misinforming the group that the basement was forbidden due to it being overridden with zombies. While the members avoided the basement, Lawrence secretly managed the place and made sure enough supplies were kept in the area to last him and the protagonist a long time.

Once there, the protagonist tried to turn back to bring back the others in the group, but Lawrence stopped her, telling her that they were most likely dead. He revealed that he had planned this all along, and even after hanging out with these people all these while, he killed them without remorse, simply because they were more of a hindrance than help.

The protagonist initially rejected him, and ran off once while Lawrence was off his guard. However, in the midst of her escape, she was attacked by a zombie, and Lawrence risked his own life to save her.

After the dangerous encounter, Lawrence brought the protagonist back to the basement. Although still wary, the protagonist realized that Lawrence did indeed care greatly for all, even with all his faults. She slowly began to accept Lawrence, no longer ignoring him or refusing his touch.

Now, there’s only the two of them. There’s no one else to bother them, and the protagonist had nowhere else to go. Lawrence was thrilled; he had finally achieved his goal.

I quite liked Lawrence’s character. Although unfeeling and unsympathetic towards everyone else, he was willing to sacrifice himself to save the protagonist. He had also shown himself to be extremely protective of the protagonist; the rare moments he loses his composure were when the protagonist was harmed.

Though, I find his falling in love with the protagonist a little abrupt. He basically fell in love with her just because she handed him an umbrella in a rainy day! It makes me curious what if the person who helped him was not a young and sweet girl, but a balding old man in his seventies. Would he have reacted the same way? LOL.

Anyways, it would not be easy to get onto Lawrence’s route without paying some money in the game, unless you have tons of patience. Also, a lot of his yandere moments and true nature are only revealed in the bonus contents (Lawrence’s Memory), which is not easy to unlock. Nevertheless, I find the game mechanics and the plot quite refreshing compared to most mobile-based otome games, so I think it is still worth it to check out the game!
