The character is unnamed throughout the manga. He is self-proclaimed descendent of the carpenter, who had crafted a gigantic armchair and lived in it.

SPOILERS AND PERSONAL OPINION

The young carpenter appeared friendly at first, offering Yuzuho the advices she needs on the selection of chairs in his store. His disposition gets creepier however, and he told Yuzuho about a story of a writer, who’s armchair lived a carpenter in love with her. He proceeded to show Yuzuho a giant armchair which contained the corpse of two people huddled together, believed to be his ancestors.

Things got worse as he declared himself the descendant of that carpenter, and started enquiring about Yuzuho and her occupation. He went on to confirm her identity and her job as a writer, confessed that he is a fan of hers, and offered to promised to make a chair for her. Yuzuho ran away, only for a heavy, giant armchair to be delivered to her home without her consent. It is believed that the young carpenter resides in that chair.

This character was cleverly made to imply that the practice and psyche of these twisted carpenters are passed on through generations, so the horror never ends.

Honestly, do run far from such characters. Although he probably looks much better than the carpenter whose story he told, all these carpenters are too creepy for my liking. Nothing swoon-worthy!
